What is Unix?
Unix is a family of operating systems, deriving from the original AT&T Unix developed in the 1970's by Bell Labs. Some of the most famous examples of Unix based operating systems are Linux and Mac. At the heart of Linux, there is Unix, so learning more about Unix just may help you learn more about Linux, or Mac or any other Unix based operating system.
